John laments that no one is able to open the scroll of destiny when an elder identifies that Jesus, the lion of Judah who appears as a slain lamb, is worthy. Jesus then takes the scroll from the Father, unleashing a “new song” of worship that is joined by multitudes. There’s a reason we sing at Christmas – not because it makes us feel good but because Jesus is worthy.
