God has chosen and predestined us to share in HIS inheritance in Christ. He has called us to “be holy,” because He is holy. He also calls us to live a life worthy of our calling in Christ. Because we live in a world with numerous trials, temptations, and sufferings, Peter encourages us to remain faithful and persevere in the faith. Peter reminds us that God is the ONE who guards us with HIS power and that He is the ONE who fills us with a living HOPE because of the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus.
